Don’t sell stuff you don’t know about!

Everyone has a hobby of some sort, why not use this to your advantage and start a business which can extend your knowledge on your hobby and at the same time give you access to better equipment at a cheaper cost.

All my business ventures have started because of a hobby or fetish of some sort. Imagine setting up a business on something you know nothing about and most importantly something that doesn’t interest you! For those who don’t know, I play the violin (duh! Look at the title of this site!) And I got into selling parts and accessories and slowly upgrading my own violin at the same time. Because I already new a lot about it as I was taught it in my lessons it was easy to trial my own products and respond to customer queries and let them know how I found it myself. A lot of shop owners, (physical and online shops) try and sell products that they have never even used before. In some instances this can define a good and bad store.

I encourage you to find something your interested in, do some research, read product reviews, trial the product and then have a go at selling the product.
